We decided to start this group after taking a NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness) family-to-family education class. Each member of this group has a relative with schiozophrenia, bipolar disorder, clincial depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder or borderline personality disorder. Our purpose is to support and educate each other. Anyone in the Austin or surrounding communities who has a family member affected by mental illness is welcome!
NAMI Connection is a recovery support group for adults with mental illness regardless of their diagnosis. Every group is offered free of charge. We meet every Wednesday night from 6:45 to 8:15. Groups are led by trained individuals who are also in recovery – people who understand the challenges we face.
